Dorian van Rijsselberghe
DORIAN VAN RIJSSELBERGHE – November 24, 1988Dorian van Rijsselberghe, was born and bred on the little Dutch island of Texel. Texel is pretty exposed so it catches a lot of wind, that combined with the fact that Texel is one of the first spots to catch the swells coming out of the North Sea makes it a Dutch windsurfers paradise. Dorian grew up just a stones throw from the beach in a house in the forest, eating home grown goodies out of his mum's organic garden. Maybe it's his relaxed roots that make this down to earth Dutchie so immune to stress and so strong in competition; the pressure of competing rolls off him like water off a ducks back. Dorian has the need for speed and not just on the water, recently his career has been set to turbo fast forward! Dorian took out the 2011 Windsurfing RSX World Championship in Perth (Australia) and he is now also the hot favourite for the gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. And while he may not be gangster he's got his sights set on some serious bling. Could Dorian be the first Mystic team rider to bring home an Olympic medal? …We'll keep you posted.
