My name is Boujmaa, Professional Windsurfer from Morocco, windsurfing for living, while keeping the fun on the water I also love to surf and kitesurf or mountainbike off the water beside off road 4x4.
What is the reason you committed your life to windsurfing?
I think I was born to be in the water, I love to be windsurfing, doing what I love, I got hooked to it since I was a kid, loving it and the more I do, the more I want, it's more than a passion, it's my life, and I don't see myself doing anything else.
What is your biggest achievement in your sport?
When I first became pro and had the opportunity to travel to Hawaii and meet all the pro’s, gain a spot within that privileged circle and gain their respect, I think then I realized I achieved something very few windsurfers in the world would get to, and since then, every session I had in the water, I counted it as an achievement.
"I needed to leave my fears behind and just go for it."
What are you doing to push yourself everyday?
Whenever I have an opportunity to be in the water and the conditions are suitable to progress, I push myself to my limits, I try to cross them with the only idea of gaining control over my windsurfing skills, getting things controlled or inventing new things, in my head, I always had this idea in my head, if I wanted to progress and get to the next level, I needed to leave my fears behind and just go for it, I just switch off my emotions and try something insane if the set up and elements are suitable for it.
What is your vision on what direction the sport should go?
For me windsurfing has got to a whole new level with impressive progress in all its disciplines, from waves through freestyle and slalom, either in equipment innovations or the sailing out in the water, most of the top level guys has took the sport to whole new era, while the business of the sport been slow which makes it difficult for professional windsurfing to be the real dream all young windsurfer can dream of.
