Leonardo Casati
About
Leonardo Casati doesn’t back down from a challenge. Born in Lake Como, Italy, he moved to Tenerife at age 8 with his brother and father and dove into kitesurfing as soon as he could. Inspired by his brother Lorenzo’s high-flying progress, Leonardo was determined to go even bigger. As his dad recalls, “The moment Leo saw Lorenzo fly, he turned to me and said, ‘If he can do it, I can do it better.’”
Leonardo didn’t waste any time proving it. He won his first Freestyle competition, claiming the U14 Junior World Championship at age 9, and has since racked up four World Junior titles. Big Air is his playground—massive jumps, wild conditions, and a constant push to go higher.
“Having Lorenzo around helped me level up fast. I’d ask him how to land new tricks, and we’d compete to see who was better. We push each other hard—it’s a constant competition.”
