FAQ
Choose your Mystic men's kitesurf harness based on support, freedom of movement, riding style and budget.
Stealth Evolve - Lightweight high-performance hardshell waist harness with recycled carbon construction and direct power transfer.
Stealth - Hardshell waist harness with better grip, reduced pressure points and more freedom of movement.
Majestic X - Stiff but soft waist harness built for overpowered riding with a Bionic Core Frame.
Warrior - Comfortable softshell waist harness for riders who prefer a softer, more flexible feel.
Star - More accessible waist harness with a good balance of support and flexibility.
Driver / Marshall / Aviator - Seat harnesses with a lower tow point and extra stability.
Waist harness - Sits around the waist, just above the hips, and gives more freedom of movement for big air, freestyle, freeride and wave riding.
Seat harness - Sits lower around the hips and upper legs, creating a lower tow point that can feel more stable and easier to control.
Choose a waist harness if you want more mobility and a more performance-focused feel. Choose a seat harness if you want extra stability, easier water starts or a harness that is less likely to ride up.
Hardshell harness - Uses a stiffer backplate to spread load more directly across the back and give stronger support under power. Useful for riders who jump, ride overpowered or want more locked-in control.
Softshell harness - Gives more flex, comfort and freedom of movement, which can feel easier and more forgiving for freeride and everyday sessions. Packing and transport with a softshell is easier.
Choose hardshell for direct support and power transfer. Choose softshell for comfort, flexibility and a softer feel.
For many beginners, a waist or seat harness with good support and an accessible price is the best starting point.
Star Waist Harness - Good balance of support, flexibility and comfort at a more accessible level.
Star Hybrid Harness - Useful for progressing riders because the removable seat part lets it transform from a seat-style setup into a regular waist harness.
Driver Seat Harness / Aviator Seat Harness - Good choices if you want more stability, a lower tow point and easier control while learning.
For big air and overpowered riding, choose a supportive hardshell waist harness.
Stealth Evolve - Delivers direct power with recycled carbon construction, bio-based foam and a stiff but controlled flex feel.
Stealth - Lightweight high-performance waist harness with strong grip and reduced pressure points.
Majestic X - Built around a stiff Bionic Core Frame and the best choice for riders who want maximum support when riding powered.
Choose your Mystic harness size by measuring your waist at belly button height and matching it to the size chart on the product page. The right harness should feel snug around the waist or hips without creating painful pressure points or moving too much while riding.
The correct spreaderbar size depends on the harness size, and Mystic size charts show the recommended Stealth Bar or Ace Bar size for each harness size. Always check the specific product page before buying, because waist size and spreaderbar recommendation can differ by model.
A kitesurf harness should feel snug, secure and comfortable without painful pressure. A waist harness should sit around your natural waist, between the top of your hips and the bottom of your ribs. The back of the harness should fit closely into the small of your back, without large gaps.
A common mistake is trying to push the harness too far down when putting it on. This can actually make the harness ride up more once the kite starts pulling. A waist harness is not meant to sit as low as a seat harness. Instead, place it around your waist, close the spreaderbar and tighten both sides evenly so the hook stays centred in front of your body.
The harness should not twist, slide around or move easily when you pull on the hook. You should still be able to breathe, bend and rotate normally. If the harness rides up toward your ribs, leaves space behind your back or moves a lot under load, it may be too large, too loose or not the right shape for your body.
Always check the size guide before buying and choose the correct spreaderbar size for your harness. If a waist harness keeps riding up even when it is the correct size and properly tightened, a seat harness or Star Hybrid Harness may be a better option for extra stability.
