Men's Kite & Wing Vests
Kite and wing vests are designed to provide extra protection and confidence on the water. Depending on the model, you'll find impact vests that help soften the impact of falls, as well as flotation vests that provide additional buoyancy. Choosing the right vest depends on your discipline, riding style and the level of protection you're looking for.
FAQ
Start by deciding whether you need impact protection, a wing-specific harness setup, low-profile protection under your wetsuit or certified buoyancy support.
Solace Impact Vest - Choose this if you want our premium kite impact vest with Clash foam, harness grip lines, a built-in safety knife and a waterproof Fidlock phone pocket.
Block Impact Vest - Choose this if you ride big air or practise powered tricks and want additional padding for heavy crashes and hard landings.
Star Impact Vest - Choose this if you want a reliable all-round kite impact vest with Clash foam, a front zip and a non-padded area that fits comfortably with a harness.
Foil Impact Vest - Choose this if you want impact protection with additional NBR spine protection for foil sessions.
Endure Impact Wing Vest - Choose this if you want a wing-specific solution that combines impact protection with an integrated high hook harness.
Star Floatation Vest / Brand Floatation Vest - Choose one of these if certified buoyancy support is your main priority instead of impact protection.
All of our kite impact vests are designed to work comfortably with a kitesurf harness. The Star Impact Vest, Solace Impact Vest, Block Impact Vest, Foil Impact Vest and Impact Under Vest have a non-padded waist section, leaving space for the harness to sit securely without bulky foam underneath it.
Choose between them based on the level of impact protection and features you need, rather than harness compatibility, because they are all made for use with a kite harness.
The Endure Impact Wing Vest is the exception. It is designed specifically for wing foiling and combines impact protection with a built-in high-hook wing harness, so you do not wear a separate harness over it.
Choose the Endure Wing Impact Vest if you want the most wing-specific option. It combines impact protection with a high hook harness setup, helping reduce fatigue and giving a more locked-in feel while wing foiling. It is built with EVA and NBR foam to cushion heavy wipeouts and support longer powered sessions. Choose the Downwinder Floatation Vest if you are doing longer downwind-style sessions and want CE-approved buoyancy, storage, a chest pocket, a detachable back pocket for a drinking reservoir and a spreaderbar hole.
Choose the Block Impact Vest if you want our strongest impact protection for hard crashes, big air and heavy wipeouts. It uses Clash foam with additional padding to absorb high-impact falls, while the non-padded waist section and harness grip lines allow it to work comfortably with a kite harness. Please note that the Block Impact Vest is designed for impact protection and is not a flotation device or buoyancy aid.
No. Our kite impact vests are designed for impact protection, not as life-saving flotation devices or buoyancy aids. They help soften impacts from crashes, landings and wipeouts, but they are not intended to replace a certified buoyancy aid or life vest. If you need certified flotation, choose one of our floatation vests, such as the Star Floatation Vest, Downwinder Floatation Vest or Brand Floatation Vest. Find out more about this in our blog.
A Mystic kite or wing vest should fit snugly around the chest and body without blocking breathing, rotation or harness movement. An impact vest should stay close to the body so it does not move during crashes, jumps or hard landings. A floatation vest should also feel secure, but must be chosen according to the correct weight or size chart. For kiteboarding, make sure the vest sits comfortably with your harness. For wing foiling, make sure the vest does not restrict pumping, paddling, breathing or torso rotation.
