Originally from São Paulo, world-class Brazilian surfer Caio Ibelli grew up two hours away from the nearest shore. He caught his first wave at the age of 3, learning to surf in Ubatuba where his parents had a beach house for weekend getaways. Locals began noticing his talent and when he was 8 his father moved the family to Guarujá so Caio could take things to the next level. At the time, he was playing catch up to up-and-coming Brazilian pro surfers but originating from the city meant Caio had a lot to prove. Caio’s drive is through the roof, putting in whatever it takes to get his desired result.

In 2011, Caio put his name in the global headlines by winning the World Junior Championships. In 2015, he surprised everyone by dominating the Qualifying Series, ultimately winning Rookie of the Year for his CT debut in 2016. He's been rising since, ranked 8th in the world after the 2022 CT.

Caio is a waterman who doesn’t hold back when it comes to bigger, heavier waves and barrels. He’s also an avid kitesurfer. When he was 12 years old his local spot was windy and packed with kiters. Afraid of the lines, he wanted the kiters out but the second-best option was joining them so he took a deep dive into the sport. Kiting has given Caio another vantage point for the water, with no limit to catching waves.
